LIGHTDECK San Francisco, CA
How do you add outdoor space to the upper level of a home without ruining the experience below? The client requested this small deck to access the outdoors from their primary bedroom and home office, but an existing sunny patio and kitchen window below were in danger of being overshadowed, literally. LLA’s answer was translucent polycarbonate decking that allows light to filter down to the patio and kitchen window below, while cedar glulam framing, cantilevered glass guardrails, expertly concealed fasteners, and precise detailing make the deck itself something worth looking at from any angle.
